Nikki Lewis Simon, Senior Vice President, Shareholder and Chief DEI Officer of Greenberg Traurig LLP, participated in a video interview during Nareit’s REITWISE: 2024 Law, Accounting and Finance Conference, held March 19-21 in Hollywood, Florida.
Simon discussed the impact of recent Supreme Court cases on corporate inclusion efforts. Simon said that despite legal challenges attempting to undermine workplace initiatives following the decisions, many Fortune 1000 companies are sticking to their commitments. He emphasized the value of full inclusion in innovation, safety and sharing diverse perspectives within organizations.
Simon outlined five key best practices for fostering inclusion within companies, ranging from establishing dedicated teams to leveraging leadership support.
