Zurich North America reallocated responsibilities among three of its senior mid-market executives this week.
John Diaz, previously chief operating officer, was named head of underwriting; Lynn Zeitler, previously head of underwriting, was named head of industry practices; And John Mizzi, who headed industry practices, was named chief operating officer.
Zurich spun off the mid-market division from its commercial business four years ago after hiring Alex Wells from Chubb Ltd. to lead the business.
Mr. Wells said in an interview that the officers had been in their current positions for at least three years.
“They are all underwriters; All have been underwriters throughout their careers, and we’re just asking them to look at the business from a different perspective based on moving forward. There are new eyes, new energy around those teams.”
Since its launch, the middle-market division has added 50% more underwriters and posted a 20% compound annual growth rate, Mr. Wells said.
